The Promise Land Church Leadership Structure
The Promise Land Church is blessed to have a dynamic leadership team that are truly dedicated to accomplishing God's will. They are "all-in" as leaders of TPLC. Below you will see the biographical sketches for our Senior Pastor, Pastor/First Lady, and Chairman of the Deacons Board. Additionally, we are an Elder led congregation. Our Elders are Erik B. Eure, Sr. Pastor (President), LaShaun Benjamin, Chairman of Deacon Board (Vice President), and Joe'Von Works (Elder member). Other leadership positions include Sister Tasha Benjamin (Church Administrator), Sister Shakena Birden (Chief-of-Staff), and 7 Ministry Department Directors: Ministers Marquis & Nicole Eure (Children/Youth), Minister Gia Irons (Discipleship, Education & Training), Deacon LaShaun & Sister Tasha Benjamin (Family Life), Sister Fronda Booker (Helps), Sister Shakena Birden (Pastoral Ministries), Sister Ashleigh Brown (Music & Fine Arts), and Minister Rhea & Brother Ricky Parks (Young Adults).
Erik B. Eure

Pastor Erik Brian Eure serves as the pastor and founder of the Promise Land Church located in Syracuse, New York. Pastor Eure is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a lifelong member of the Baptist church. As a teenager and young adult, he attended several of the denominations development academies in preparation for leadership in the church.
As an adult, he has served as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Men’s Bible Study Teacher, Trustee, Ordained Deacon, Minister of New Members Training, Minister of Evangelism and Chief Executive Minister to the Senior Pastor. He was called to the gospel at the age of 22. He preached his initial sermon in September of 1993. He was fully licensed and ordained by the Northeastern Missionary Baptist Association in January of 2002.
Pastor Eure is a 10 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served in the Operations Desert Shield and Storm. After leaving the Marines, he used the G.I. bill to complete college and begin a career in Human Resource Management where he worked for two Fortune 50 companies.
Along with his wife Twiggy Meshele, he has been serving as pastor of The Promise Land Church since February of 2002, under the covering of Pastor John K. Jenkins, First Baptist Church of Glenarden. He has led the church into growth and several milestones during his years as pastor. The church membership has grown from 4 families to over 200 families. Under his leadership, the church has developed over 40 ministries that impact the church and community. In 2010, The Promise Land is a debt-free ministry that includes a church, parsonage, park area and parking lot on multiple acres of land and a church mini-bus.
Pastor Eure’s ministry extends beyond the walls of the church. He is the Chaplain for the Syracuse City Police Department. He actively serves on several community boards, he is currently the Vice-President of the Syracuse Ministerial Alliance and he presently serves on the Syracuse Juneteenth Board. He is the past Chair of the National Black Leadership Commission on AID & HIV Syracuse Affiliate, the Past-President of Divine Opportunities for Visionary Entrepreneurship, Vice President of Public Relations for Syracuse Coalition of Urban Pastors, Former Campaign Manager for Bea Gonzalez for Mayor, Former Campaign Manager for Khalid Bey for Common Council and Training Referee for Central New York Pop Warner Football Officials.
Pastor Eure has been married to his wife and best friend, Twiggy for 26 years and they have four children and 1 granddaughter.
Twiggy M. Eure

Pastor Twiggy will openly share how God's love embraced her and restored her life after graduating from high school and giving birth to her son. Equipped with her own testimony and after over 10 years of faithful service to the Second Olivet Missionary Baptist Church (Syracuse, NY), she co-founded The Promise Land alongside her husband, Pastor Erik Brian Eure in February 2002. Pastor Twiggy's love and dedication to God, her husband, family, ministry, and career is evident. After 10 years of service, she was licensed and ordained as a pastor on Friday, September 14, 2012. She currently serves as senior vision builder, overseer of the Discipleship, Education & Training, Women's, Children/Youth, Media, and Music Ministries, and she is the Founder of the "On the Move" Conference. Her unique ability to identify with people right where they are, allows her to passionately speak, teach, train, and inspire people from all walks of life.
Pastor Eure is the Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Reporting directly to the CEO/President, she provides strategic guidance to leadership and management staff within all areas of responsibility in an effort to raise awareness and promote a culture of inclusion across the Crouse system. Pastor Twiggy believes in preparation and is a life-long learner. She received her Associate's Degree (Bryant & Stratton College), Bachelor's Degree (SUNY Oswego), and Master's Degree (Syracuse University). She is a Diamond-Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Syracuse NY Chapter), an InterFaith Works board member, and she serves on other community boards and committees. She has received numerous awards and was highlighted in the February 2017 & 2019 editions of Syracuse Woman Magazine, and is a graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse Class of 2001.
Pastor Twiggy attributes her greatest accomplishment as the wife of 26 years to her "bestie" Pastor Erik B. Eure, and the mother of four awesome children, Ministers Marquis & Nicole who blessed them with their first granddaughter, Londyn, and three daughters: Gabrielle, Sydni, and Camryn.
LaShaun Benjamin Sr.

Deacon LaShaun Benjamin Sr. serves as the Chairman of the Deacon Board and Family Life Ministry Department Head. He is a native of Sumter, South Carolina.
Deacon Benjamin is a 20-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. While in the Marine Corps he completed college earning an Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration/Law Enforcement. He currently works as a Marine Instructor at Mexico Academy and Central School District in their Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training (MCJROTC) program.
Deacon Benjamin has been married to his wife, Tasha, for 19 years and they have 4 amazing children, LaShae, Tiesha, LaShaun Jr., and Naomi.
